DESCRIPTION

Mineral Turpentine or Mineral spirits/turps, also known as Petroleum spirits, Turpentine substitute or Petropine, is a petroleum-derived clear liquid used as a common organic solvent in painting. There are also terms for specific kinds of mineral spirits, including Stoddard solvent and solvent naphtha.

Density: 815 kg/m³
Classification: Volatile organic compound, Aliphatic hydrocarbon (low aromatic), Solvent Naptha (Petroleum light aromatic)


The thinner can also be used for clean-up of spraying equipment etc.

  • Packaging: Available in 0.5, 1 and 4 Litre Plastic Jerry can or Metal Flasks with Bericap.

    Flash point: A refined petroleum solvent with a flash point of 39-43°C, boiling point of 154 - 192°C, and containing >65% C10 or higher hydrocarbons.

    Chemical formula: A typical composition for white mineral spirits is > 65% C10 or higher hydrocarbons,[6] aliphatic solvent hexane, and a maximum benzene content of 0.1% by volume, a kauri-butanol value of 29, an initial boiling point of 145-174 °C , and a density of 0.82 g/ml.

    Shelf life: The typical shelf life is 2 years unopened and 6 months after opening.
